रांची में 13 से 19 जनवरी तक होने वाले ओलिंपिक क्वालीफायर के लिए शनिवार को 18 सदस्यीय भारतीय महिला हॉकी टीम की घोषणा कर दी गयी. टीम की कमान अनुभवी गोलकीपर सविता पूनिया को सौंपी गयी है, जबकि वंदना कटारिया उपकप्तान होंगी. टीम में झारखंड की चार खिलाड़ियों ओलिंपियन निक्की प्रधान, सलीमा टेटे, संगीता कुमारी और ब्यूटी डुंगडुंग को शामिल किया गया है.
टूर्नामेंट की शीर्ष तीन टीमें पेरिस ओलिंपिक 2024 के लिए क्वालीफाइ करेंगी. सविता ने हाल ही में एफआइएच वर्ष की सर्वश्रेष्ठ गोलकीपर का पुरस्कार जीता, जबकि वंदना 300 अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैच खेलने वाली भारत की पहली महिला खिलाड़ी बनीं. भारत 13 जनवरी को अमेरिका से पहला मैच खेलेगा. इसके बाद 14 जनवरी को न्यूजीलैंड और 16 जनवरी को उसे इटली से खेलना है.
टूर्नामेंट में भारत समेत आठ टीमें हिस्सा लेंगी. इनमें भारत, जर्मनी, चिली, जापान, चेक रिपब्लिक, न्यूजीलैंड, इटली और यूनाइटेड स्टेट्स की टीमें शामिल हैं. इन्हें दो ग्रुपों में बांटा गया है. ग्रुप ए में जर्मनी, चिली, जापान और चेक रिपब्लिक, जबकि ग्रुप बी में न्यूजीलैंड, इटली, भारत और यूनाइटेड स्टेट्स की टीमें हैं.
The 18-member Indian ladies’s hockey workforce was introduced on Saturday for the Olympic qualifiers to be held from January 13 to 19 in Ranchi. The command of the workforce has been handed over to skilled goalkeeper Savita Punia, whereas Vandana Kataria would be the vice-captain. 4 gamers from Jharkhand, Olympian Nikki Pradhan, Salima Tete, Sangeeta Kumari and Magnificence Dungdung have been included within the workforce.
The highest three groups of the event will qualify for Paris Olympics 2024. Savita lately received the FIH Goalkeeper of the Yr award, whereas Vandana turned the primary Indian girl participant to play 300 worldwide matches. India will play its first match towards America on 13 January. After this, it has to play New Zealand on 14 January and Italy on 16 January.
Eight groups together with India will take part within the event. These embody groups from India, Germany, Chile, Japan, Czech Republic, New Zealand, Italy and United States. These have been divided into two teams. Group A has groups from Germany, Chile, Japan and Czech Republic, whereas Group B has groups from New Zealand, Italy, India and United States.
